Fruit and veg stalls at the market

An eclectic mix of shops is right on your doorstep, selling fresh fruit, vegetables and groceries, as well as more exotic food and spices. For other everyday essentials, Tesco Express is just a short walk away.

Also merely a stroll away, further along London Road, is Fitness First. Whether for serious calorie burning or some indulgent pampering, the club is fully equipped with a gym, spinning room and cardio theatre as well as a sauna, steam room and beauty room. For something more cultural, from film and comedy to art and music, the Croydon Clocktower has it all with a cinema, museum, gallery and library all under one roof.

The town’s major shopping centres are less than a mile away. The Whitgift Centre is home to 140 shops, including high street stores like Marks and Spencer, Boots, Faith and Monsoon, alongside individual and boutique shops. The stylish new Centrale centre has expansive House of Fraser and Debenhams department stores, and a fantastic range of popular high street shops including French Connection, Zara and H&M. Here you will also find a choice of cafés and informal restaurants, from Italian to sushi. Ideally Placed

Traditional buildings

Croydon’s dynamic mix of old and new makes it a unique and fascinating town; a thriving urban social and cultural location benefiting from huge investment and revitalisation.

Embracing its past as a traditional market town, an area of industrial influence, and later a significant business and retail centre, historical buildings dating back to the Fifteenth Century sit side by side with stunning contemporary architecture. Croydon has grown from a leafy residential suburb in the Victorian era, into a vibrant, multicultural town and the second largest place to shop in the South East, and things are certainly only getting better, with an estimated £3.5 billion of investment in the next ten years, and Croydon rated as one of the top UK towns where house prices are set to bounce back.
